Jakarta (UNAS) – Universitas Nasional (UNAS) Indonesia and UCSI University Malaysia have officially agreed to a strategic cooperation that includes lecturer exchange, student mobility programs, and double-degree graduation collaboration. The agreement’s signing took place in an atmosphere full of collaborative spirit, aiming to strengthen academic relations between countries and support the development of global human resources.
Vice-Chancellor and President of UCSI University, Professor Emerita Datuk Ts Ir Dr. Siti Hamisah Binti Tapsir, FASc, expressed her deep appreciation for UNAS’ efforts in improving cross-country collaboration. As part of this working visit, Prof. Hamisah received a textbook entitled “Research Methodology” by Iskandarsyah Siregar, Ph.D., a leading lecturer and researcher from UNAS. She stated that the book will be distributed to UCSI students to broaden their insights into research methodology.
“We greatly appreciate Dr. Iskandarsyah’s work and will ensure that our students can make maximum use of it,” said Professor Emerita Datuk Ts Ir Dr Siti Hamisah Binti Tapsir, FASc.
In a relaxed yet in-depth lunch session, the Vice-Chancellor and President of UCSI University and the Vice-Rector of UNAS Prof. Dr. Ernawati Sinaga, Ms., Apt, discussed opportunities for broader collaboration. One topic discussed was the possibility of recruiting Iskandarsyah Siregar, Ph.D., as a lecturer at UCSI. This step is considered a concrete implementation of the collaboration between the two institutions and is expected to benefit both parties greatly.
In addition, Unas and UCSI agreed to continue striving to strengthen academic capacity and quality through various productive collaborations. Both universities agreed that this collaboration is not only for internal interests but also to provide significant contributions to the local and international communities.
“This collaboration is a real manifestation of the spirit to support each other. We believe this collaboration will broadly impact students, lecturers, and the community in general,” said Prof. Ernawati Sinaga.
It is hoped that this collaboration between Unas and UCSI will become a model for productive and innovative cross-border higher education collaboration and strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and Malaysia in the academic field. (*Iskandarsyah/Dimas)
